After a few days of inactivity, the Hub's battery may drain completely. If this happens, you will be required to remove the battery from the Hub and charge it using the provided power adapter. The steps in this article explain how to charge the Hub's battery.
If this is your first time charging the battery, please visit: 1. Charge the battery
Step 1: Remove the battery from the hub
- Using your trim tool’s T8 star bit, remove the four star screws on the top of the Canopy Hub. Place the screws aside in a container or on a flat surface.
- Gently squeeze the sides of the battery faceplate and lift it off.
- Take the orange fabric loop and pull up to release the battery.
Step 2: Charge the battery
- Connect the power adapter to the charging port in the battery.
- Plug the power adapter into a wall outlet. It is important to use the charger that was included with your system. Other adapters will not charge appropriately. It looks like this:
- The green LED on the battery will start blinking rapidly and slow down as it gets closer to full charge. When the LED stops blinking, that means the battery is fully charged.
- It normally takes about 4 hours for the battery to fully charge.
Step 3: Reinstall the battery
- Reinstall your fully charged battery into the Hub. The four LEDs on the Hub will begin flashing as the system boots up.
- Reattach the faceplate to the Canopy Hub and secure it with the four screws.
- After the system is back online, confirm in the Canopy Security App that your battery is fully charged.
