Vehicle is not charging the Hub's battery

The Canopy Hub is designed to recharge its battery through the vehicle’s OBD-II port, but only when the vehicle battery reads above 12.4 volts, which usually only happens while driving. If you notice your Hub is not charging its battery, follow the troubleshooting steps below.

Observe charging LED on the Hub

To safely observe the Hub while driving, we recommend driving with a friend. After a few minutes of driving, an LED should begin blinking steadily on the Hub. If not, this is a sign your OBD-II power cable may not be connected properly or there is an issue with the battery.

Reconnect the power cable

The orange OBD-II power cable connections may become loose while driving. We recommend removing, cleaning, and securely reconnecting the cable connections.

Check the battery pack

Make sure the battery pack is charged, is oriented the correct way, and is seated in the Canopy Hub correctly. You should hear a click when the battery pack is set properly.

Charge a dead battery

If your vehicle has not been driven in a long time, the Hub’s battery may be dead. When your battery is dead, self-charging will be disabled. To fix this, the battery must be removed from the Hub and charged from a wall outlet using the provided power adapter.
