Pre-Installation Checklist

Vehicle Model Compatibility

The Canopy Pickup Cam only works with the following Ford vehicles from model year 2022 and onwards:

  • F-150
  • F-150 Lightning
  • Super Duty

Necessary Space and Ports for Installation

To install your Pickup Cam, your vehicle will need:

  • Your OBD II port free to use
  • For trucks with a single row of seats: Space behind driver's seat
  • For trucks with two rows of seats: Space under the driver-side rear seat

Compatible with Factory Rear Window Tints Only

The Pickup Cam works with all Ford factory rear window tints but may not work with any after-market tints applied to the rear window.

Have a Healthy Battery

Ensure your vehicle’s battery is in good health. Do not install the Pickup Cam if you have a battery that requires frequent jump starting or does not start your vehicle reliably.

Direct OBD-II Port Connection Required

Do not use an OBD-II splitter when installing, as it can interfere with the performance of the Canopy Pickup Cam. Direct connection to the OBD-II port is necessary for proper operation.

Don’t Install in Temperatures Below Freezing

Only install the Pickup Cam in ambient temperatures above 0°C/32°F. Do not attempt to install the Pickup Cam in colder temperatures, as this will impair the install procedure.

A Clear View out of the Rear Window

The Pickup Cam mounts on the inside of your rear window and requires a clear view of your truck bed. Ensure there are no large decals on your rear window or obstructions in the truck bed that could block the Pickup Cam’s view.
